Drago DOSEN Art New Zealand

I was born on October 15th, 1943 in Brezicani
near Prijedor, in the Republic of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
I was known as an academic painter in old Yugoslavia.
I enjoyed high acclaim in Europe especially in the country of my birth, having trained in art at a specific High School for Fine Arts in Sarajevo for 5 years.
This was followed by 5 years extensive study at the Belgrade Academy of Fine Arts from where I graduated in 1970.
After this long period of learning, I began exhibiting my work in 1975.
I enjoyed much success having been highly acclaimed throughout Europe, selling well over 400 paintings into both private and public collections.
I became a Member of the Yugoslav Art Society and remained a member for 25 years, taking part in all Yugoslav Art Society Exhibitions from 1975 until 1995 and solo exhibition in Belgrade 1978, and Tokyo 1994.
From 1995 I leave and work in new Zealand where I have sold my art work at various galleries; The Print Shop, Remuera, Auckland, Briarhurst Studio of Fine Arts, Hamilton and the Gallery of Colin Blackmore, Havelock North, Hawkes Bay.
