Bram de Winter

It is through years of self-study that has made Bram de Winter the (sur) realistic painter he is today.
For this he has analysed hundreds of paintings in museums and galleries, looking at paint structure, use of colour and choice of subject.
The workmanship of realistic fine painting gains his admiration but surrealism is for him the ultimate challenge. Looking back through his work you will find a development from pure realism to subtle realism.
The process of thinking of an appropriate subject is the first hurdle, sometimes this takes him weeks or even months, but it ensures that the unique piece of work he was looking for is delivered.
He enjoys discovering new ideas and methods. At the moment he is exploring the use of 3-dimensional objects, that enlivens the painting and he literally uses his fingerprint to sign his work.
The use of hard-wearing linen and high quality oils to guarantee the quality and lifetime speaks for itself.
It is through the alternate use of matt and shiny varnish that gives his pictures that final special effect.
The frames, which are last to be chosen, must form the perfect unity together with the painting.
An exclusive piece of artwork is made.
