„Hornyik Zoltán kiváló impresszionista festő. Kemecsén született 1960-ban. Tanárképző főiskola elvégzése után alkotótáborokban fejlesztette tudását. Első mestere Fekete Borbála volt, majd a Nyíregyházi Tanárképző Főiskolán Valkovits Zoltán, Bényi Árpád mellett tanult rajzot és festést.

1987-ben és 97-ben a Mártélyi Szabadiskola különdíját nyerte el. Tanulmányúton járt Görög-, Olasz-és Törökországban. Megfordult Ausztriában és az Amerikai Egyesült Államokban is. Szinte minden érdekli, amit megfesthetőnek és érdekesnek talál. Csendéletek, aktok, tájképek, városrészletek, téli táj- és utcarészletek valamint olykor, hiperrealista festmények készülnek ecsetje nyomán. Hornyik Zoltán festészete összetett, elsősorban impresszionista, azonban néha szürrealista vagy éppen plen air néha hiperrealista.

1977 óta itthon és külföldön egyéni és csoportos kiállításokon mutatja be rendszeresen munkáit.

Munkái magyarországi, németországi, svájci, japán, kanadai, és amerikai magángyűjteményekben találhatóak meg.

1991 óta Debrecenben él.”

„Zoltán Hornyik was born in 1960 inKemecse, Hungary. In his childhood he had already benn attracted instinctively by drawing and the miraculous world of colors.

He completed his studies at the Teachers' College in Nyíregyháza (as a student of drawing and geography) He went on study-tours in Italy, Austria, Greece, Turkey and United States of America.

Since 1977 Hornyik is regulary presenting his works in individual and collective exhibitions in Hungary an abroad.

Zoltán Hornyik has received prizes and professional acknowledgements. In 1977 he was awardes the first prize in country graphic competition. He received the first prize of the Final Exhibition of the MártélyFreeSchool in 1987 and 1997.

His works can be found in private collections in Hungary, Germany, Switzerland, Japan, Canada and United States of America.

„Love for Nature, its perpetual change is a constant inspiration for the artist. Landscapes, interiors or still-lives as well as nudes or compositions with more figures are the artist’s favorite themes.

On his pictures, behind a style seemingly instinctive, a structure created by sure vocational knowledge can be discovered. Hornyik reproduces with elementary strength contrasts of light and shadow.

Realism, surrealism and impressionism are the styles influencing the artist’s own style. Hornyik is open to all other schools from Caravaggio to the hyperrealists. He likes to experiment.″
