festőművész, grafikus, író, költő

Az Aranyecset Művészeti Egyesület elnöke

Munkásságát végigkíséri a közösségteremtés. Festés, írás, műsorvezetés, energiaátadás és még sok minden jellemző életére.

A budapesti Magyar Képzőművészeti Főiskola szobrász szakára járt 5 évig Somogyi József szobrászművész, rektor osztályába. Példaképe többek között Batthyány Gyula festőművész is, aki közeli rokona.

Több mint 130 önálló kiállítása volt országszerte és külföldön. 1600 festményét vásárolták már meg.

Technikája teljesen egyedi. Ötvözi a szobrászati dombormű jelleget a festészettel.

Külföldi kiállításai közül kiemelkedő az 1998-ban megrendezett Jénai Magyar Napok, mely egy egész éven át tartó rendezvénysorozat volt, s ahol a magyar festészetet egyedül képviselte Károlyfi Zsófia, szobrászművész férjével, Palaics Gáborral.

A Gellért Szálló Tea szalonjában évente két kiállítása került megrendezésre 15 évig.

1999-ben négy hónapos magán tanulmányutat tett családjával a Nyugat-Szamoa szigeten. A Pasefika Inn honlapján is látható egyik ott készült portréja.

2008-ban megfestette a Lélekút nyolc állomása című sorozatot, melynek filozófiája mindannyiunk életének folyamatát tükrözi. Több helyen be lett mutatva, melyből Palaics Eszter 23 perces lélekmosó DVD-t készített.

painter, writer, poet

president of Goldenpainting Art Association (Aranyecset Művészeti Egyesület)

She was born in Zamárdi, Hungary, in 1952. She attended sculptor department of Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts, class of rector József Somogyi for 5 years. Thereafter she made restoration works in churches. She is a member of Writers’ Association of Zala Country since 1984.

In Lovászi, Zala courty, she held drawing study circles for children and cultural programs for adults. Locals just called her studio as little community house.

In the meantime Zsofia had more than 130 own exhibitions nation-wide and abroad.

Sophia has painted in almost every subject including portraits of men in leading positions – mayors, directors, even a Samoan minister. Her technique is totally unique: combines relieve with painting.

Vibrant colours characterized her former period, lately she uses lighter tones with strongly metallised surfaces called ‘goldenpainting style’.

She painted an altarpiece and four stacio series for churches. The series which can be found at Tófej is unique, because it was painted with glass paint but not with contoured technique.

Among her exhibitions Hungarian Days in Jena (Germany, 1998) is outstanding. On the year-round event fine arts were represented by Sophia and her husband, Gábor Palaics sculptor.

Zsofia had yearly two exhibitions in Tea Saloon of Hotel Gellért, Budapest.

In 1999 she and her family spent a four months private study tour on the Western Samoa islands. She painted the local people in their folk holiday attire, and the wonderful tropical landscape of which she wrote poems and travel diary. Exhibition was taken there, and some paintings of her can be found on Samoa even today. One of them is on Pasefika Inn’s website This journey had a major impact on Sophia, she found herself there. ‘I realised there, that there’s more need for me in Hungary, than somewhere else, where I’m just a visitor. I am painting more consciously since that.’ – said Zsofia Carson.

Two DVD-s were made from Sophia’s works: on the first she tells her poems with music, on the second her paintings are combined with music and meditational sentences.

In 2008 Zsofia Carson painted the ’Eight Stations of Soul Journey’ series. Its philosophy reflects all of ours life processes. Esther Palaics made a 23 minutes long unique DVD. Since 2009 four volumes were published of Goldenpencil series (Aranyceruza), which contains the drawings and writings of people who deal with art beside their main professions.

Since august 1, 2009 the Goldenpainting Circle meets monthly in Budapest. Goldenpainting Art Association has grown from this circle, and was registered in 2011. Their goal is to create an art colony, where people with different professions can deal with art in their free time.

Since 2012 a group of outstanding talent of the association called ‘ARTICUM GROUP’ has a permanent exhibition in the heart of Budapest, called ‘ARTICUM GALLERY.
