Sculpture by Floyd Wanner
Sculptor Floyd Wanner–Saskatoon, Sask., Canada-creates monumental/garden/table top sculpture in granite, dolomite, alabaster, marble, jade, etc.
Floyd Wanner was born and raised inSaskatchewan. For the past 20 years he has made his home inSaskatoon, katchewan,Canada.
In 1984 he started woodcarving. This interest soon led him to enroll in a sculpture class at theSaskatchewanin 1985. He spent the next 4 years studying under the direction of Bill Epp at theUniversityofSaskatchewan.
Mr. Wanner is a full member of the Prairie Sculptor's Association inSaskatoon. He has participated in shows at the Snelgrove Art Gallery on the University, the Francis Morrison Library, the Sturdy Stone Building, the Saskatchewan Craft Council, Persephone Theatre, the Bronze Art Gallery in Vancouver, British Columbia; the Saskatchewan Wildlife Art Association Annual Show in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; the Pacific Gallery in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; the Centre Mall in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; the Godfrey Dean Cultural Centre in Yorkton, Saskatchewan; the Rosemont Art Gallery in Regina, Saskatchewan; the Landmarks 97 Exposition in Brooks, Alberta; Moutainesque Gallery in Canmore Alberta and the Estevan National Exhibition Centre. He has also participated in a number of sculpture symposiums in theSaskatoonarea.
Currently his main working medium is stone with a preference for monumental works. He uses both abstract and realistic forms to express his themes.
