Gabriella Vaskó is my maiden name, and I create my work as well. I was born in Jászjákóhalma on 23 December, 1946. I live in Salgótarján.

 In my childhood I began to draw graphic drawings in which my drawing teacher helped me. I tried to elaborate what I just saw.

The study of pirography was suggested by my profession of technician.
My husband helped me to learn, because he invented me this technique and made the tool I could burn on the board.

Apart from work and learning I did not stop drawing.

 I've seen a lot of exhibitions and got to know some of the artists I've learned a lot.
Ferenc Czinke, a famous painter and enamelist was my private teacher for years.

I'm dealing with pirography since 1980 when my husband made me the burning device.
It was not easy for my graphics to be transposed into firing. At first,

 I made adaptations only based on pictures by famous painters who were my favorites: Dürer, Van Gogh,

Delacroix. At that time I had no exhibitions yet, only at workplaces
I had the opportunity to present what I did, because I did not think anyone would like it. After that,

I began to translate my own drawings onto the board, which was more and more successful.

 Meanwhile, I met dr. Ferenc Matits art historian, who was the director of the local museum and saw my paintings.

 He really liked it because he had not met this technique and he thought it was a very good idea,
so he invited me to hold the first independent exhibition in 2006, which he opened and was a great success.

 At the exhibition, the local press was also there, made reports and published photos of it.
As a result, I have received a lot of requests for exhibitions that have been going on since then.

 My themes in the work were initially castles, which I made in series. Then I made everyday people,
events, dances, animals, farms and personal experiences. I like to travel and I also use the pictures I see there.

 After 37 years of pirography learning I say it was worth it.

 My works can also be found in collection at the local museum and in the Library.
And the dearest prize, which I received from a school, is the Aranyecset (Golden Paintbrush) prize.

In 2008 I was asked to attend the XX. National Exhibition of Fine Arts and Applied Arts, where my works were judged.
Among the jury members were several university professors from Budapest.

 I was awarded a memorial card for my creations.
